Welcome to Dragonflies Villa

Dragonflies Villa is a stunning, luxurious three bedroom home, situated in Rotonda West, Englewood on Florida's Gulf Coast. It is the ideal place for a truly relaxing vacation.

Rotonda West is a golfing community with five golf courses within the immediate area. It is a short drive away from dazzling white beaches and the wonderful warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Our beautiful Gulf Coast home has three large bedrooms, two bathrooms and an extended private, heated pool for your enjoyment. It has been tastefully decorated and is furnished and maintained to a very high standard. Built on an oversized plot with beautifully landscaped gardens both front and rear, it affords peace and privacy. The South West facing pool is just perfect for sunbathing and viewing colourful sunsets. The villa has been designed on a Florida split plan with Great Room, Kitchen & Nook in the middle and the bedrooms on either side. This makes it ideal for 2 couples sharing as each effectively have their own private space. The Master, Great Room & second bedroom all open out onto the pool area.

SOLAR & ELECTRIC HEATED SOUTH WEST FACING POOL
The lanai has a southerly aspect and provides access to sun all day long. Our extended pool (29 ft x 15 ft ) has been individually designed and includes a water feature and a raised planter area. Swim all year round in our solar heated pool. There is also optional electric heat for the cooler months.

The whole lanai and pool area is surrounded by a mesh cage for protection from insects. The lanai has a large table and 6 chairs for alfresco dining. There are also 4 additional loungers for relaxing by the pool. The covered lanai area offers shade from the sun and a ceiling fan for added comfort.

Our pool and lanai area look out onto a beautiful large landscaped back garden. There are tall pine trees and island beds with palms and tropical plants. It all adds to the peace and tranquillity helping you to relax and enjoy the view.


THE GREAT ROOM
Relax in elegant comfort in the Great Room. There are two plush sofas, coffee table, side tables and an entertainment unit complete with a 42" HDTV, cable television with over 100 channels plus ROKU system & Netflix, CD player and DVD player. There is also a large collection of DVDs & music CDs to choose from. This spacious, airy room has a cathedral ceiling and a ceiling fan. Triple patio doors give access to and views of the pool and lanai area.


KITCHEN
The recently refurbished kitchen has quartz counter tops and new floor tile. It has the full range of electrical equipment: large cooker with ceramic hob, a microwave oven, a dishwasher and a french pantry door fridge freezer with ice dispenser. The kitchen is fully equipped to cater for everything from a simple breakfast to a formal dinner.


ELEGANT & SPACIOUS MASTER SUITE
This spacious room is elegantly furnished and decorated in shades of gold and sage. The king-size pillow top bed is covered with a plush comforter and adorned with multiple pillows and cushions. The large dresser has ample drawer space and a mirror. There is a TV with access to over 100 cable channels, ROKU system & Netflix, telephone, CD player, iPhone charger and radio alarm clock. A large wardrobe area provides ample space for clothes and also storage space for cases. The master bedroom has beautiful views over the gardens and pool area. Double sliding doors lead out onto the lanai and pool.

MASTER BATHROOM
The en-suite has 'his and hers' vanity units, a large garden tub, a walk-in shower and a separate toilet. Towels are provided and there is a hairdryer in the bathroom.


SECOND BEDROOM
This light, airy room has a queen size bed, 2 night stands with lamps, large dresser with mirror, TV with ROKU system,large closet, a CD and radio player. It also has double patio doors with access to the lanai and pool areas.


THIRD BEDROOM
This large room has 2 twin beds, a night stand with a lamp, a tall drawer unit, large closet space and a radio and CD player.


FAMILY BATHROOM
The main bathroom is situated between the second and third bedrooms. It has a toilet, a bath and shower, a sink and vanity unit, a towel closet and a hairdryer.


DINING ROOM
Our formal dining room has a large table and seating for 6 people.


NOOK AREA
The nook area has a table and four chairs for breakfast or casual dining. It overlooks the lanai and pool area.


FRONT PORCH
The front porch is a great place to relax in the mornings with a cup of coffee while watching the sun come up!


WHERE IS DRAGONFLIES VILLA?
Dragonflies is situated on the Gulf Coast in Rotonda West, half way between Sarasota and Fort Myers.

Rotonda West is a unique development, laid out as a huge circle and divided into 8 wedges. Seven of the wedges are residential with 5 having golf courses. The eighth wedge is a nature park. Throughout the Rotonda development is a series of canals and waterways. There is a mixture of residential homes and holiday homes.

This area is very popular with Snowbirds from North US & Canada who come down to escape the cold winters in the mild & warm climate of this wonderful area.


USEFUL INFORMATION:

BEACHES
Englewood beach is just a short drive away from the villa. This large public beach has the sugar white sand found on the best of Florida beaches. This beautiful beach has a peaceful relaxed atmosphere. The beach is never crowded. Sometimes the pelicans and herons outnumber the sunbathers! The Boardwalk at Englewood Beach provides 3 covered pavilions, areas to sit and watch the magnificent sunset, barbecue and picnic area and restrooms with changing and shower facilities.

Boca Grande is accessed by a toll bridge ($6 to cross). There you will find beautiful beaches with lots of white sand, beautiful clear water, some small dunes and a wooden dune walkover from the parking lot. It's a great place to see dolphins, tarpon, snook, and manatee. The water's edge is usually full of birds searching for food. To the far south of the island is a historical lighthouse. GOLFING
Rotonda West has a choice of five courses within 2-10 minutes drive. The five clubs which make up the Rotonda Golf & Country Club are: Long Marsh, Palms, Hills, Pinemoor & Links.


SHOPPING
Supermarkets
There are several supermarkets within a 5-10 min drive (Publix, WinnDixies, Sweetbay, Wal-Mart etc). The large Walmart in Englewood is open 24hrs. Englewood Town has supermarkets, department stores and a good selection of smaller shops.

Shopping Malls
Port Charlotte Mall is a 20 minute drive. There you will find an excellent selection of stores including large department stores (JC Penny, Macys, Dillards etc.).

Prime Outlet Malls
There is a large outlet mall at Ellenton (about 1 hour drive). "Visit the Gulf Coast and west Florida's largest outlet center with over 130 factory direct stores including Coach Factory, Banana Republic Factory Store, Gap Outlet, Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, Saks Avenue's 'Off Fifth' and Ann Taylor Factory Store! OR, if you want to visit Naples (about 2hours drive). "Over 40 of the most important names in designer fashion, accessories and home furnishings are among the merchants at Prime Outlets - Naples. Collier County's only outlet center!"

If you are a fan of TK Maxx then visit TJ Maxx (same company) in nearby Venice for household and fashion bargains. Marshalls in Port Charlotte is a similar store.


BOATING
There is so much to do "On the Water" - Fish, sail or cruise, the choice is yours! Hire a boat and sail along the Intercoastal waterways having a peek at million dollar properties! Take a water taxi across to Palm Island and return just after sundown. Try a sunset cruise from Lemon Bay out to the coast. Will the dolphins follow your boat? The views of sunset are spectacular.

If you are adventurous try Stand Up Paddleboards SUP or take an eco tour.

Rotonda West area has miles of canals and waterways running through it. You can hire canoes to explore the canals. You can also fish in the many canals (a permit is required).


PARKS
The Rotonda Community Park is a short walk from Dragonflies Villa and has picnic and barbecue areas, a children's play area, tennis courts, footpaths, nature trails and playing fields. A path runs round the community area - ideal for walking or cycling. There are several smaller parks in the vicinity for example a children's play area, shuffle board court and basketball nets at Sunnydale Park (2 minutes away).


ATTRACTIONS
For a fun day out visit Sunsplash Water Park at Cape Coral. You'll find a family friendly park with exciting slides (3 new slides this year), a lazy river, paddling pools, volleyball court, loungers to laze on, snack bars, changing rooms, gift shops etc. Sunsplash is under an hours drive from Dragonflies Villa. FLYING INTO THE AREA
We are within easy access to three local airports: Fort Myers (1hr), Tampa (1.5hrs) and Sarasota (1hr). We are about 3 hours drive from Orlando, Miami and Fort Lauderdale.


WILDLIFE
South West Florida is home to large & small mammals including bobcats, wild boar, raccoons, armadillos & oppossum. A bobcat has been spotted on several occasions crossing over the back plot but nobody has been quick enough to catch one on camera! You may see a Gopher Turtle at the bottom of the garden. One lives down in the swale at the back of our property. Gopher turtles are a protected species in Florida. They say that any stretch of water in Florida may contain an alligator or two so watch out if you are on the golf course and your ball goes near the water. We have woodpeckers and owls among the many birds that visit our garden.

At the beach you might see dolphin and manatee. Bocca Grand is a great place to watch manatee slowly swim past the shoreline. The pelican and herons are incredibly unfazed by humans and will land very close especially if there someone nearby fishing.
